Prospects The D Zone will be seeing at Flint Carman-Ainsworth vs. Lapeer (Story)
The D Zone's Jeff Corrion will be covering this SVL game on Saturday afternoon at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School. Lapeer enters this game as the #20 ranked team in the state with a 6-0 record while Carman-Ainsworth enters with a 3-3 record after losing 3 of their last 4 games.
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Carman-Ainsworth:
2019 DE Mike Fletcher is committed to Michigan State and is the #8 ranked player in the Class of 2019 according to The D Zone. By now the whole area and state knows how dangerous Fletcher is as a pass rusher and how solid of an athlete he is. He'll have a good battle with a pretty strong Lapeer offensive line.
2020 QB Dustin Fletcher is the #19 ranked prospect in the Class of 2020, Fletcher is a strong armed QB with a pretty good release. The 6'4 QB holds 9 various offers.
2019 WR Jakobe Blount is a 5'9 165 lbs Slot receiver who holds a Siena Heights offer and is a very elusive player with also excellent speed.
2019 WR/CB Idris Bray is a 6' receiver with solid hands.
2019 WR/CB Trent Barron is 5'9 165 lbs receiver with 4.4 speed and probably will be the fastest player on the field Saturday.
Lapeer:
2020 MLB Phoenix Dickson is the lone Lightning player we have ranked at #46 overall in the Class of 2020. Dickson is a 6'2 210 lbs tackling machine who already has 76 tackles and 15 tackles-for-loss this year. Dickson has no offers yet but is getting quite a bit of interest from Division 1 schools.
2019 RB Jalen Kirkland is a player that can wear down defenses, Kirkland is a 3-year varsity starter so he knows a thing or two by now about hitting the holes and lowering a shoulder. Kirkland who is 5'11 225 lbs is looking for his first offer. Kirkland is a very productive player.
2019 DE/TE Carson Currie is another long-time starter for Lapeer as the 6'2 215 lbs Currie is a solid prospect who tracks the ball well and can be a disruptive factor on defense.
2019 QB Brady Apple is a 6'2 185 lbs QB prospect who has over 800 passing yards and 8 touchdowns this year. Apple's recruiting process has been going well with offers from; Davenport, Clarke, and Concordia-Ann Arbor.
2019 S/OLB Jordan Pohl is 6'1 180 lbs prospect with D3 opportunities so far from, Finlandia and La Verne.
2019 OG Will Sollie is a versatile OL prospect at 6'2 250 lbs and can pass/run block. Has an offer from NAIA program, Culver-Stockton.
2019 OT Luke O’Brien is a 2-year starter at RT for Lapeer. The 6'5 275 lbs OT picked up his first offer this past week from Culver-Stockton.
2019 OT Chase Burton is another on the OL who should be bound to play somewhere in college next year. 6'3 280 lbs lineman who can move pretty well.
