Davison 2018 RB Tariq Reid has committed to Grand Valley State, finding the "perfect fit"
Davison 2018 RB Tariq Reid's 8th offer turned out being the charm as Reid committed to the Lakers a week after being offered.
Reid announced his decision on Twitter and commented, "I have found a school that is a perfect fit for me and my family and I'd like to announce that I am verbally committing to Grand Valley State University."
Reid recently concluded a phenomenal high school career in which he ran for 5,834 rushing yards which broke a Genesee County record which was previously held by Flint-area greats that Reid is now a part of.
Davison Head Coach Kyle Zimmerman commented on how Reid's senior season has played out towards the end of the regular season, "Tariq has played at a higher level across the board than ever before in my opinion. Every week when evaluating film I have found a different phase of his game that he has not only improved on but turned it into another weapon he has that wears on people before they gotta deal with him in the 4th quarter."

- Player Analysis
8/23/2017: The Davison product rushed for over 2,000 yards in 2016 with only 11 games played as he led a huge turnaround at the school. Reid's junior film shows a player doing a little bit of everything and no one is catching Reid once he hits the open field.
College interest: The 6' 200 lbs RB has a variety of offers on all levels. Schools are anxiously waiting to see what the mid-Michigan product does as a senior.
