There's not much that Essexville-Garber 2018 TE/WR Ben VanSumeren cannot do, hence why we call him a "Super-Athlete."

The 6'4" 215 lbs VanSumeren has played; WR, TE, QB, and RB on offense as well as remaining a solid contributor on defense.

VanSumeren has a range of offers to choose from and should continue to draw interest and draw offers after his season concludes this week.

VanSumeren has a chance make history in his final game of his senior season vs. Reese with 9 receptions he would tie Brendan Howe of Grosse Pointe South with 82 receptions for a non-qualifying playoff team. If VanSumeren can catch 10 balls he would break the record.

During his senior season VanSumeren snagged impressive 1-hand catches under the lights on Friday's and downtown Bay City (VanSumeren had a viral video of him grabbing a pass in the park).

Through 8 games VanSumeren has 73 catches for 1,000 yards, and 11 touchdowns.

We’ve seen him play on several occasions his numbers are amazing considering his coach doesn’t go to him as often as you would think he would and despite being covered by several players of the opposition almost every play. He is definitely fun to watch!
